Admissions Information

We are delighted that you are interested in learning more about Aquinas Academy. We look forward to getting to know you and to sharing with you all of the benefits of an Aquinas Academy traditional curriculum rooted in classic literature, Western history, ancient and modern languages, math, science, religion, and the arts.

Families interested in attending Aquinas Academy should visit the school before applying. We will provide you and your children with a guided tour, an opportunity to visit classes, and the chance to speak with Aquinas administrators, teachers, and students.

Schedule a Visit

To schedule a visit, please contact Mr. Joseph Austin, Director of Admissions, at 724.444.0722 Ext:15, or by email, or Online Form.

Admissions Open House

Thank you to all of the families who attended our Admissions Open Houses. It was a pleasure meeting you! We appreciate having had the opportunity to show what makes Aquinas Academy successful in independent Catholic education and the best value in private education.

If you were unable to attend an open house, please contact Mr. Joseph Austin at 724.444.0722 Ext:15, or by email to schedule a personal tour.

K–12 Admissions Process

In our admissions process, we evaluate student report cards and standardized test results from the last two years. Please submit the Academic Report Request to your current school. If previously home-schooled, then we evaluate your portfolio.

Aquinas Academy also requires two recommendations: a teacher recommendation and a personal recommendation.

We invite each student to consider spending a shadow day with us, from 8:00 AM–11:30 AM. Due to COVID-19, we are only allowing one student to shadow at a time. On the day of your visit, students must not have a temperature above 100 degrees, and must not be exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. Furthermore, if students find out that they have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in contact with someone with a known case of COVID-19, in the last two weeks, then we will be happy to reschedule.

An important element of the admissions process is a family interview at which parents and the prospective students meet with us to discuss their educational goals and the nature and mission of Aquinas Academy.

Preschool Admissions Process

For information about the PreSchool Admissions Process, please contact Mrs. Cindy Barthel in the main office at 724.444.0722 Ext:34 or our PreSchool Director, Mrs. Sharon Navari, at 724.444.0722.

High School Placement Test

After a student is accepted into our high school, we ask all incoming students to take the High School Placement Test. If you have recently been accepted to the high school, please schedule an appointment to take the placement test by contacting Mr. Joseph Austin, Director of Admissions, at 724.444.0722 Ext:15, or by email.

Please know that we do not use this test to determine which students are admitted to Aquinas Academy. The placement test will simply be used to assist the course selection process. This test assesses general knowledge in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and logic. There is no need to prepare for the placement test outside of your normal daily schoolwork. We just ask that all students try to do their best!

We would love to hear from you and answer your questions. For more information, please contact Mr. Joseph Austin, Director of Admissions, at 724.444.0722 Ext:15, or by email, or Online Form.
