Deus caritas est, God is love, says Saint John. We have heard this expression many times, and, as Christians, we all say we believe in a loving God. Very often, however, it can seem that God is quite distant from us— slow to answer our prayers, or all too willing to send crosses and trials into our life. What are the sources of encouragement and strength that we can take refuge in and meditate on when we are anxious, tired, frustrated, sad, lonely, wounded, or even angry? What are some of the principles we find in Scripture and in the faith to help us in times of difficulties? In this talk Father Sebastian will help us to understand why one of the greatest graces we can receive in the Christian life is to be able to suffer well, and to maintain peace of soul through every circumstance.
